The House & Garden
Set on a hillside 5km from the lively village of Castelnau Montratier, Souquet Haut is a traditional Quercy farmhouse overlooking farmland and oak forests. The gardens, nurtured by our family over many years, extend around the house and include an open barn garden, a swimming pool with pigeonier, a pétanque ‘pitch’, woodlands and a rich orchard.
First Floor
The main house it set over three floors and is entered at the mid-level into a large entrance hall. This leads onto a light, bright ‘grown-up’ sitting room, with chess table, library and evening drinks terrace. This floor also has the master bedroom, with fantastic dual aspect views down the valley, a single sleigh-bed bedroom and a jack-and-jill bathroom.

Ground Floor
Stairs from the entrance hall lead down to another sitting room with a large open fire, Smart television (with English channels), large, comfortable sofas and door to the garden. There is a butlers pantry/bar with a sink and drinks area.
The sitting room opens into the fully-equipped kitchen with its dining area seating 12 and french doors onto the garden and dining terrace with pool beyond. The kitchen has a large American-style fridge freezer, electric range with gas hob, microwave and two dishwashers.

Top Floor
The floor of the house has three double bedrooms. These can be converted to twin beds on request. They have very comfortable English mattresses and pillows.
In addition there are two shared bathrooms - one with shower and one with a bath.
The Gite
Opposite the front door of the house there is a guest house with a large double bedroom with french doors onto the garden. It has an ensuite bathroom with a bath/shower.
There is also a small laundry room adjacent to the bathroom with a washing machine and tumble dryer and washing line.
The Bothy
Near the entrance to the property, about 50 yards down the drive, there is a self-contained apartment. This has two bedrooms, one double and one single with a truckle bed. There is a sitting room, galley kitchen with hob and microwave, shower room and WC.
The Garden
The property is approached by a drive of about 400m. The house is set in complete privacy in 8 hectares of hillside and gardens with spectacular views over the fertile valley of La Grande Barguelonne (a modest stream). There is a heated swimming pool (12m x 6m), a pigeonnier with shower and loo, and several barns, one of which is a covered floodlit boule/pétanque pitch.
